Fun and bespoke tastings
Something special happens when people drink fine whisky together. The pleasure is as much in the company and connections as in the spirit itself.
"Us" is just "me' for now, with a little help from my local friends.
The aim is to bring people together through guided tastings that are on the fun side of informative, crafting new connections with those you meet at our events, deepening connections with those you attend with.
About me
Malt whisky has been the enthusiasm of my adult life.
Whisky drinkers sometimes talk about their "gateway malt", the dram that took whisky from being a drink among drinks to something more special. My friend Tom gave me some Springbank 15 yo as a gift in 1986, and that was that.
I've been doing tastings with friends and colleagues for years, trying to share that enthusiasm, and the information and stories I've picked up along the way. People have been good enough to say I could do similar things professionally, which I'd thought was just politeness until they offered me money to do things at stag and leaving dos.
I hold the BIIAB Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders in England and Wales, and I'm studying for the equivalent Scottish qualification.
